Case Study: Custom Annexe in Spilsby
A Stylish Forever Home In The Lincolnshire Countryside
At 15.24 x 6.7 Mtrs this stunning custom annexe is one of our most recent projects that is just waiting for the external landscaping to complete the picture perfect setting for this lovely forever home.
Our customers opted for quite a few upgraded finishes to help create their perfect annexe retreat where they can relax and enjoy life in the stunning Lincolnshire countryside location.
When Covid-19 forced business & life changes for our customers we’ve been honoured to help them relocate and take on a whole new lifestyle.
It’s been an absolute pleasure helping them achieve a dream custom annexe full of their own personal taste & style.
With some unexpected groundworks conditions to overcome our skilled build teams have worked tirelessly to make this project a reality.

Warm Tones Of Coffee & Cream
Our customers chose a classic colour palette of browns, coffee & creams throughout to create a sophisticated annexe to enhance the overall size of this large custom annexe project.
On the wish list was a preference for a separate lounge and a kitchen / dining space to enjoy meals with the whole family.
One of the best aspects of opting for a custom annexe build is that you can design your new home to suit your exact needs.
That’s why no two annexes are ever the same.
Master Bedroom With An En-Suite Shower & Walk-in Wardrobe
All our custom annexes have built in wardrobe options to choose from including walk-in wardrobes or sliding door wardrobes depending on the model, floorplan and overall budget.
Our customers chose an upgraded bespoke finish to the walk-in wardrobe in their master bedroom and also selected a walk-in shower for their en-suite.
The shower wall panels in the en-suite and second bathroom are from our wide range of custom annexe finishes. (Panels shown are an upgraded finish.)
With the overall size of this annexe being 50 feet long we had a lot of added space to work with.
The final result is not exactly something most people would consider downsizing but sometimes annexe living is much more about multi-generation living and a lifestyle choice than anything else.

A Forever Home With A Happy Ever After Ending
The first part of every annexe journey is obtaining the relevant permission to build an annexe in your garden.
In this particular case, it was a Certificate of Lawfulness to enable us to build this superb annexe as a mobile home on the owners property and within the curtilage of the large garden.
With family members living in the main house (which is a renovation project in it’s own right) what better way to plan your retirement than in a custom annexe of your own design.
Once all the building work is over and the landscaping of the garden complete it will be a tranquil setting to enjoy for many years to come.
A New Retirement Plan That Makes Sense Financially
More people than ever before are adopting the idea of freeing up equity to help family members in the living years and enjoying being an active member of the family at the same time.
Grandparents today play a much more active role in family life. In the past two generations, the number of children being cared for by their grandparents has increased substantially from 33% to 82%.
And with the monthly average cost of residential care being around £2816 or receiving nursing care in a care home costing on average £3552 per month annexe living is a smart investment in the value of the main property and in maintaining a higher quality of life.
So if you get along fine with your parents or your in laws, why not look into annexe living more closely & find out if it’s a good fit for you.
