Pricing & Timescales

Planning permission takes 8 weeks from the time the application goes in and is accepted by your Local Planning Authority (after the final drawings have been prepared and approved by you).

There s typically an additional 6-8 weeks when the annexe is pre-built in the factory to allow for a “flat pack home” on site.

The building (if it built on site) is typically built within  6-8 weeks for the one bedroom CLL Contemporary mobile home (from start to finish), other sizes may take up to 10 weeks.

All our CLL Contemporary mobile homes offer superior insulation properties for comfortable year round living, a long-lasting fibre glass roof, double glazed PVCu windows and doors and ample living space for anyone needing self-contained accommodation for a dependent relative or member of the family.

*It is important to stress that a condition of being granted planning permission for a self-contained annexe at your home will be that it is only to be used by a family member and can only be sold as part of the main house not independently at any time.

The CLL Contemporary Mobile Home Gives You Perfect Way To Help Your Dependent Relative, Young Adult Or Returning Adult Live Independently But Still Be Close To Home

We hear a lot of arguments between generations about the styling of an annexe. Usually the younger ones in the conversation like the Contemporary style whereas the older generation like the more traditional, classic style. The good news is that there is no reason why you cannot compromise and have both.

We recently completed an annexe with a very traditional exterior and yet everything inside was modern, and we have also been asked to keep the outside ultra modern but to complete the interior in a very traditional way!

Sometimes your local planning authority will recommend contemporary styling as it is modern in design and is a contrast to the existing home. Others may consider the contemporary style with a flat roof less obtrusive to any neighbours and therefore recommend it for that purpose.

All local planning authorities will have own particular concerns which will need to be addressed but in general they are very sympathetic and understanding to the need for dependent relative accommodation and we find that planning approval for annexes is usually a positive experience.
